a consortium of diverse religious organizations serving the university community

who we are

United Ministries is the official association of religious organizations, groups and individuals providing religious services and care to the University of Virginia community.  United Ministries was established in order to provide a forum for discussion, an avenue of communication, and a means for addressing issues related to religious and spiritual concerns at the University.

United Ministries is open to all University-related religious organizations, groups, and individuals that agree to abide by all stated requirements, support and affirm the purposes and goals of United Ministries, and to act in accordance with University regulations.  In light of the wide diversity of faiths and denominations represented within its membership, United Ministries does not espouse or promote a particular faith, creed, dogma, or belief, nor does United Ministries, as an organization, proselytize, evangelize, or seek adherents to a particular religion. United Ministries is an administrative and professional association comprised of professional clergy: pastors, ministers, rabbis, nuns, priests, lay ministers, imams, and other religious leaders who are connected to and involved with the University community.  United Ministries is supported financially by annual dues assessed to the members.
